About us Research and Curriculum Development at the Graduate College, Srinakarinwirot University is the first Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program in Thailand that commenced in 1974. It is an interdisciplinary program which offers an academic degree with the emphasis on creating a new body of knowledge through research-based teaching and learning.
Currently, seventeen cohorts of students have already graduated from this Ed.D. program. Many of them work as renowned academics, researchers as well as executives in various organizations. With the reputation of the alumni, together with the teaching and learning methods offered, the Ed.D. program in Research and Curriculum Development has been very well-received during the period it has been open for applications.
In 2010, the Ed.D. program in Research and Curriculum Development was renamed as the ‘Doctor of Philosophy’ (Ph.D.) in Research and Curriculum Development to comply with the curriculum standard of postgraduate levels (in 2005) as well as the national qualification framework for postgraduate levels (in 2009). The revised curriculum in 2010, accordingly, places great emphasis on research as can be seen in the proportion of core subjects, half of which are research-related subjects.
The Doctor of Philosophy program in Research and Curriculum Development (revised, 2010) aims to produce graduates who are interested in various disciplines based on the fields of research and curriculum development. Through ontological and epistemological concepts, the graduate students of this program will be able to search and create a new body of knowledge which will be beneficial to the field.
